I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and have been working in the mental health field for several years. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Salem State University, and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Suffolk University. I utilize an integrative approach which is rooted in a combination of evidence-based practices such as CBT and DBT techniques, combined with elements of feminist, humanistic, and psychodynamic theories.
Though I have experience with and enjoy working with a variety of demographics and diagnoses, I have special interests in working with teens (13 and up) and young adults regarding difficulties they face in life such as with relationship issues, phase of life transitions, exploring their identity and sexuality, and identifying values they want to live by. I also have a special interest in working with women struggling with fertility related topics ranging from infertility and abortions, to post-partum depression and general stressors of motherhood. Outside of these specific interests, I enjoy working with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, self-esteem issues, grief, trauma/PTSD, identity development, sexuality exploration, women's issues, men’s issues, and mild-moderate co-occurring alcohol misuse.
I believe that humor and trust are important elements of the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for clients in order to help them gain an understanding of how their past as well as their current thoughts and behaviors may be affecting their well-being. I strive to support clients around challenging the stigmas they may face and to develop confidence in living their authentic life.
