Hello! My name is Mystala Broughton. Are you ready to feel more confident, more regulated, more productive? Are you ready to challenge yourself to communicate more effectively with those you love and interact with on a daily basis? Are you ready to be less consumed with worry and fears? Do you need help processing a traumatic experience? Perhaps, you have lost a loved one and would like help with this grief?
I am a very motivated therapist that believes in identifying motivation for change as a first step to finding relief. It takes a lot of bravery to come to therapy and work on yourself. Therapy is work and I am here to help guide you. I have been trained to help individuals challenge their negative thinking patterns and help rewire those patterns. I help individuals understand that behavior and emotions correlate, and begin with a thought. We will create a plan together that will begin day one of your first session. I tend to utilize a variety of strategies to help engage the individual. My areas of expertise include: anxiety, mild to moderate depression, trauma, grief, parent guidance, teenage issues, work related stress, family communication, childhood abuse or neglect, ADHD strategies, anger, PTSD and life transitions.
I earned my Masters of Social Work degree from Salem State College in 2009. I trained with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families and at Waltham Creative Head Start. I provide treatment for individuals between the ages of 12 to 75. I utilize a variety of modalities depending on the clients’ needs including: Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Solution Focused Therapy, Behavior Modification, Grief and Loss, Psychodynamic Trauma Therapy, Person Centered Therapy and Psychoeducation.
