Caroline Danehy, LMHC

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

I earned a Master of Arts in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University. I have worked in schools and community mental health settings and have experience working with a wide range of ages and presentations including mood disorders, anxiety and related disorders, personality disorders, thought disorders, behavioral issues, and trauma. I enjoy working with clients across the lifespan: children, adolescents, and adults.

I tailor my therapeutic approach to fit the individual needs of the client and believe that the therapeutic relationship is paramount. I generally describe my theoretical orientation as Psychodynamic interwoven with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other interventions including somatic approaches. I have specialized training in trauma presentations, and I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I also use play-based approaches with children.

In a safe, supportive environment, I support clients in deepening self-awareness and understanding of thought and behavior patterns that have developed over time and help clients build tools to manage and navigate challenges that arise.
