All of our counselors are in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Optum (UnitedHealthcare, United Behavioral Health, Mass General Brigham Health Plan/AllWays), and Point 32 Health (Harvard Pilgrim and Tufts). A limited number of our clinicians are currently contracted with Evernorth (Cigna) with anticipated termination dates ranging between 2025 and 2027. As of June 1, 2027 we will no longer accept Evernorth/Cigna products.
We do not accept Medicare. We do not accept Masshealth with the exception of a select few Health Connector plans from Tufts, Harvard Pilgrim, UnitedHealthcare, and Mass Brigham Health. Masshealth plans are not subject to cancellation fees, however, in the event of recurring missed appointments, services may be terminated due to lack of consistent adherence.
Most insurance plans will cover the cost of behavioral health services, minus your copay or coinsurance amount. If you have a deductible you will be required to cover the cost of your sessions until your deductible is met.
Employee Assisted Program (EAP) Benefits
EAP is a benefit offered by employers to provide free, convenient access to immediate mental health intervention for their employees and covered family members. Its purpose is to improve productivity by assisting employees in addressing the personal issues impacting their work performance.
EAP benefits only allow for a limited number of sessions. If you need additional care, you can switch to using your behavioral health benefits or self pay. EAP is not intended to be used as a replacement for long-term mental health care, or for receiving no-cost sessions with a current, ongoing long-term counselor.
Authorizations for EAP services are required prior to the first session and must be initiated by the employee/client. If you are interested in using EAP benefits, please email billing@csgboston.com and provide your counselor the requested information as listed in the CSGB Insurance Form. Please note that EAP benefits can not be used retroactively. Some EAP carriers allows for multiple authorization codes, however, CSGB does not approve the use of more than one authorization code per client.
Good Faith Estimate Notice
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance, or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
