Who We Are
Counseling Services of Greater Boston was founded in 2013 by Dana Venable and Amanda Bruce. We proudly offer outpatient, in-person mental health treatment to the communities surrounding Wakefield, Georgetown, and Tyngsboro, MA. We offer virtual treatment to clients located within the state of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We are a women-owned and women-operated practice. We are dedicated to cultivating and maintaining a safe and supportive environment for both our clinical staff and clients. We offer many different types of treatment approaches and services; which allows us to support the multi-layered needs of our clients. We have a passion and dedication to supporting not just the individual, but the whole family as well as the larger community where we work and live. As such, we have developed excellent relationships with referral sources, collaterals, and partners in the field. Our mission is to provide affordable, easily accessible, innovative and evidenced-based focused treatment to our clients.
Diversity and Inclusivity Mission Statement
We are aware of the heartbreaking inequality issues plaguing our community and the impact this has on both our clients and clinicians. At CSGB, we believe in the immense value of doing the uncomfortable work of uncovering our areas of privilege, and standing as advocates with those who are not in a position of power. In our offices, we welcome and embrace conversations on race, gender identity, sexual identity, ableism (both visible and invisible), socio-economic status, ageism, and many other types of diversity. As leaders in the mental health community, we take the impact of our role on the lives of those we serve seriously. Therapy is a powerful space where these topics can be addressed. We aim to support, encourage, and empower our clients, as well as advocate for them when appropriate.
We are embedded into these communities that we serve. Since opening our doors in 2013, CSGB has created relationships with many schools, pediatric/physician offices, and other medical providers in order to understand the unique needs of our Massachusetts and New Hampshire clients. We know it takes a village and our clinicians are committed to creating collaborative care that is sensitive to any diversity-related experiences that a client may be facing. Whenever possible, we take part in community events such as those held by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and provide donations to both local and global charities.

In order to provide ongoing excellent services to our clients we also focus on supporting our clinical staff. One way we do this is by encouraging continued education, which is a requirement of all state licensing boards. CSGB covers the cost of these trainings as part of our FT benefits package. We strive to maintain high staff retention rates by focusing on work/life balance, peer supervision, transparency around administrative operations, and co-creating a warm and inviting work environment. By supporting our clinicians, we are better equipped to serve our clients and the communities they live in.
